Immigration Senior Staff Attorney
Barbara C. Pinto is an Immigration Senior Staff Attorney at Centro Legal de la Raza. Barbara represents clients in their immigration cases before Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Immigration Courts, and before the Board of Immigration Appeals. Her work at Centro Legal involves detained and non-detained removal defense, including representation of DREAMers, unaccompanied children and families, as well as various affirmative petitions. Barbara is also the supervising attorney of Centro Legal’s DACA/DAPA project. Prior to joining Centro Legal, Barbara was the Ralph S. Abascal Fellow at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, where her work focused on providing advocacy, outreach, and legal assistance to immigrants and immigration practitioners about the DACA program. Growing up as an immigrant in San Francisco, she enjoys working with and understands the struggles of the immigrant community. She graduated from UC Hastings, College of the Law and during law school interned at various organizations in the Bay Area, including the Refugee & Human Rights Clinic, S.F. Human Rights Commission, ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale, LLP.
